ACE #322: Got Milk?

Milk is nutritional. It does a body good. In fact, as infants, we are fed with milk partly because that is all our bodies can handle until we are able to process solid foods. What’s interesting about this is that a percentage of us, as we get older, become intolerant to milk. The very same substance that is used to begin our maturation process could become the substance that we will need to avoid to be healthy. I know there are other factors that come into play, but that is still interesting.

This is even more interesting to me because it symbolizes our walk with Christ. You see, as babes in Christ, the milk represents the basics of God. On the milk, we are still not completely understanding what it means to walk with Christ. Our spirit is not ready to process the solid foods. We look at the walk as a religion. It is a one-way operation.

The solid food symbolizes a deeper level in our walk with Christ. We are able to move from religion to relationship. Faith becomes actions. Our spirit is able to recognize that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of. We understand that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.

As I am sitting here thinking, I remember a conversation I had with a family member one time. We were discussing some family issues and I was reminded by my cousin of the milk. Like our maturation as humans, we need spiritual milk to begin to grow in Christ. Unlike our human process, people can remain on spiritual milk. You see, not everyone that you encounter is ready to process a deeper understanding of what it truly means to worship Christ and to die to ourselves. People may have accepted Christ and believe in Him, but that does not mean they are ready to operate in faith, hope and love, with the greatest of these being love. It means they are ready to love neighbors as they love themselves.

Not everyone has the faith to get out the boat in order to walk on the water. Some folks just got milk.
