ACE #290: Scandal Time - Didn't See That Coming

Last night's episode, "Inside the Bubble" was full of surprises.  The characters were blindsided - one after the other - like nobody's business.  Even Olivia's father reminded her, "The world kept spinning without you."

Did Abby, aka Red, call Olivia a "rigger of elections"?  That had to feel hateful and hurtful.  Liv got served.  But make sure to call her Abby and not Gabby.  Really...it took that long to learn her name, Fitz?  Rude.  And Cyrus reminded her, "You are not in the bubble, Red."  Rude, again.

Jake told Olivia, "You are not my girlfriend...so no," and declined her dinner invitation with her father.  Then he slammed the door in her face and sort of pretended like he had another woman in his apartment.  That was a double "read".  But, because he is foolishly in love with her, he went to dinner anyway with Liv and her father, Command.  But, of course, he had an ulterior motive.  As usual Joe Morton delivered! That pot roast must have been on point though. How exactly is Jake paying for his apartment since he doesn't have a job?  And we knew all along that Jake was going to figure out what happened to Harrison.  But how much do we care at this point? Just asking...

And the subplot with Olivia's and Abby's old law school colleague was interesting, but not shocking. But why would she videotape that?  Well...why would she do what she did in the first place?

And Quinn...she took Charlie down quickly.  He did not see that coming.  The crazier she talks to these crazy men, the more they want her.

But I felt sorry for Mellie.  (Did anybody notice her hair was full of weave?)  Anyway, she had just gotten her law school mojo back.  She was all prepared, then ill-prepared.  Poor thing.  She was trying really hard though.  While she was thoroughly embarrassed, she was right!  The woman did not push her husband off of the cliff.

Something tells me that David Rosen only enjoyed playing dirty for a little while.

Certainly, Cyrus cannot be so lonely that he is losing his killer instinct.  Or is he?

I can't figure out where we are going with this season...

This show felt a whole lot like the Israelites wandering in the wilderness to me...a great and terrible wilderness.  Nevertheless, we will keep watching...

Numbers 32:13
The LORD's anger burned against Israel and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation of those who had done evil in his sight was gone.
