ACE #45: Why Our Kid is Way Cooler Than Any Disney Princess

For Halloween, our daughter dressed up as the Disney character, Hua Mulan, or Mulan for short.  Last year, she was Rapunzel.  The year before that she was Minnie Mouse.  And her very first Halloween, she was Winnie the Pooh.  This year, however, I believe being Mulan was her favorite costume and character.

I wanted her to be Tiana, but the reality is...she's just not that into her.  Let the world tell it, she looks more like Princess Tiana than any of the rest of the princesses.  Here's the thing though...she is way cooler than any of those characters.  She's never a damsel in distress.  Why?  I'm glad you asked.

She has a daddy who would move the world for her and "fight a bear" for her just like Merida's parents; no doubt, he would sacrifice himself or fight a wicked sea witch too like Ariel's dad.  She has a mother who dotes over her and brushes her long, thick hair with love and genuine affection  (very unlike Rapunzel's capture in "Tangled").  I will also make sure she has a gown for the "ball" because she is my little Cinderella after all.  She has four grandparents who spoil her rotten and feed her healthy fruit (very unlike Snow White and that awful, poisonous apple). With her great charm and infectious smile, she could certainly tame any "beast" like Belle.  But it's something else that makes her way cooler...she is fearfully and wonderfully made!  And she knows it very well.  Any knight that ever comes her way should probably check his armor (Ephesians 6:10-18)...
