ACE #77: Scandal Time - A Think Tank of Lies

And here we are folks…at the winter finale of Scandal.  We were left with our mouths hanging wide open…yet again.  Cyrus got a little more than he had bargained for by the end of the episode, but so did Olivia.  And then we all gasped when Fitz said, “I built this house for you.”  And Liv melted – again!  All of the digging Olivia had done to find out what happened to her mother all those years ago and there Mama Pope was standing on the side walk. 

As I think about the characters in Scandal, I am reminded of the verse, “For they are conniving and violent, and all they talk about is causing trouble” (Proverbs 24:2).  Everyone has an agenda.  Someone is always scheming and stirring up trouble, especially Mellie Grant and Cyrus Beene.  They live for it!

In Nahum 1:9-15 (The Message) in reference to Ninevah, this type of troublemaking behavior is considered to be “A Think Tank of Lies that seduces and betrays!”  And it works for the Scandal storyline, but surely not in real life.  In real life, we have to be accountable to ourselves, others, and certainly to God. 

If you ever encounter people like that...RUN! It usually ends badly and brings more trouble than it is worth.  What trouble will Mellie and Cyrus stir up next?
