ACE #92: A Good Kid

Last night, we ate at Cracker Barrel.  Our daughter said that she really loves going there because "they have the neatest stuff" in that place.  As we were leaving, several elderly people were coming in the door.  She leaned her little body against the door with all of her might and held it open for them.  Several of them thanked her, but one gentlemen said, "You're doing a good job raising her.  You're raising a good kid."

Although it was such a small gesture on her behalf, it showed that she has been listening to us when we've told her to respect her elders, when we've explained to her the value of patience, when we've always told her to be polite and to use her manners, and when we've encouraged her to be helpful to others.  I think we're doing a pretty good job...with God's help.

We are realizing day by day, she's not a baby anymore...she's growing up. That's our girl!

Proverbs 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
