It reminded
me of when Moses went to Pharoah and requested, “Let My people
go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.” Pharoah refused. Moses kept making the request, and they kept falling on deaf ears. Then came the numerous plagues, ending with
the death of Pharoah’s firstborn. Keep in mind, Pharaoh was warned many times about how this would end. Wouldn’t you think that there should be no
evil thoughts left? Pharoah still chased
the Israelites through the desert into the Red Sea. It resulted in, “Pharaoh's chariots
and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are
drowned in the Red Sea.” There were more
than 600 chariots! All of these
senseless deaths…and for what?
We must be
mindful to ask ourselves the question, “Is plotting evil against our enemies ever really worth it?” Cyrus will never learn...and, well, that's why we, Scandal fans, will keep watching I guess...
Exodus 11:1-3
Death of the Firstborn Announced
11 And
the Lord said to Moses, “I will
bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward he will let you go
from here. When he lets you go,
he will surely drive you out of here altogether. 2 Speak now in
the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every
woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.” 3 And
the Lord gave the people favor in
the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s
servants and in the sight of the people.
Exodus 12:29
The Tenth Plague: Death of the
Firstborn
29 And it came to pass at midnight that
the Lord struck all the firstborn
in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to
the firstborn of the captive who was
in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock.
