ACE #47: Fire with Fire

The pastor spoke today from the book of Daniel chapter 3 and he raised a question.

"Can you handle the fire?"

Well, I thought about it. Can I? Or, am I? That is the better question for me. When I look at the chapter, I see the 3 Hebrew boys who have decided that no matter what decree the King has issued there is nothing that can stop them from worshipping The Lord our God. This King laid the command that everyone will worship the image of gold at the sound of the different instruments and the punishment for not worshipping it. But, these men of God did not allow this decree to hinder their faith. Of course, I am abbreviating the experience and I encourage you to read it for yourself. But, these 3 boys decided that they worship The Lord and The Lord only. The command is not for them. So they were punished by being sentenced to the blazing furnace. You know the rest. If not, you should take the time and read it.

My point is this. In Christ, we have a fire and a Holy Spirit that is given to us when we accept Him as the savior. Is that not what John the Baptist said during his baptisms? Through faith and belief in Christ, we have the power to withstand the hell that is happening on earth. Our fire is greater than any fire the enemy has.

When the King opened the furnace and found 4 instead of 3, he wanted the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. You see, the fire we have in Christ can out power any fire the enemy can put us in. As we are living in these last days and our lives seem like a living hell on earth, we know from the experience of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego that Jesus is with us through our faith in Him. Match fire with fire.
