ACE #39: Re-Image

At the job, we have a re-imaging process for computers. Through this process, we offer customers the opportunity to clean up a computer that has been infected with spyware, viruses, and other software/malware that has damaged or could potentially damage their computer. The process basically takes a now ineffective machine and wipes it clean from all the unwanted mess and clutter. Afterwards, the computer is restored to the original image. When the computer is returned to the user, it is now functioning to it's full capability.

Now, if I could just think about this spiritually for a minute. What would a re-image look like in Christ Jesus?

David asked the Lord to create in him a clean heart. He said "renew in me the right spirit."
It was in this moment that David realized he was broken and could not function properly unless the joy of the Lord was restored. So David sought the Lord to be re-imaged/restored to the joy he once knew. The joy before the lust. The joy before the adultery. The joy before the set-up. You get my point.

To those of us who have allowed the sins of this world to infect the image of Christ that is supposed to be in us, it's time to re-image. The heart is broken and it needs to be restored to the image of God. The scripture says we are created in His image. The Lord has to wipe out the mess in our lives so we can get back to Eden and live on top of the world (Donald Lawrence.) So, seek the Lord for a re-image (repentance) and function in true righteousness and holiness. Furthermore, in Christ, we are under warranty. He paid it all on the cross.
